‘Enchanted Garden’ as featured in Modern Wedding Magazine

This blog post was delayed for a few weeks due to some serious production issues that we experienced. Now that everything was all sorted.. I finally could sit down and publish this post.

This was an Editorial Style shoot that we were part of… it was led by the incredible photographer, Jenny Sun Photography. This shoot was recently featured in Modern Wedding Magazine’s latest issue with a full double page article written about the photos, and even what’s even more exciting is that it made the front cover of Modern Wedding’s Style Guide! Our contribution was of course, Cake! Not it wasn’t on the front cover … but I’m equally excited and happy for the team! Jenny Sun brought together some of the best local vendors and it was a pleasure to work together with each one of them.

The shoot took place back in October 2012 or was it November? Anyway, it was in the peak of Spring Wedding season.. and it was on a Friday!! In case you did not know, Friday is always the day when we can’t even have proper lunch because we are on our toes all day working on weekend orders.

The opportunity to work with Jenny Sun & her team, plus some amazing vendors was not something I would dismiss. So I took this on board, knowing I would not have much sleep then!

The day on the shoot, sadly I could not leave the production kitchen, hence I sent one of our staff to the shoot location. He took some pictures of the shoot location.. behind the scenes… oh I wish I could be there!!  okay.. no more words.. let the images speak for themselves! Lovely Wedding Magazine

‘Lovely Wedding Magazine’ is a new Australian-based online bridal publication. The creator and founder of Lovely Wedding Magazine, Loni Parker, is also the brain behind the Adore Home Magazine.    The magazine is full of beautiful wedding inspirations … with great styling and product ideas which would surely assist any couple planning their wedding! Even to us, wedding vendors, who constantly need to feed ourselves with industry’s latest trends! For their Autumn 2013 issue, we are privilege to have been invited to contribute our ‘Rustic Charm’ wedding cake… Thank you Loni @ Lovely Wedding Magz … we love this issue!

Alice & Patrick’s Wedding : White Hydrangea Wedding Cake

Alice & Patrick had their wedding earlier this year, in the Sydney Opera House. They chose to get a ’Hydrangea Cake’ that is probably one of our most inquired cakes.

It is a very versatile cake style, it can easily blend into almost any wedding style. We originally did it in a 2 tiers .. but since then we have done it in 4-tiers & 3-tiers.

A note from the bride after their return from honeymoon:

“Hi Patricia,
I wanted to thank you for the beautiful and (apparently) delicious cake you made for our wedding! I say apparently because hubby and I never got to eat any but was told by guests how delicious it was. One of my friends took the little remaining after the wedding for us as we were going on our honeymoon straight away and her whole family finished it before we could salvage any when we came back from the honeymoon! Anyway that’s okay because I’m very glad there was no cake wasted and people thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you so much once again, I will be recommending you to my friends for sure!

‘Weddings by Design’ magazine from the US

Here in my hot little hand, I’m holding a copy of ‘Weddings By Design’ magazine.
It’s a special edition of Design Bureau Magazine, which normally features all aspects of designs and creative culture.

I received a copy which the magazine’s editor has kindly mailed out all the way from Chicago, because two of our cakes were chosen, and they were featured along side my cake heros : Ron Ben Israel & Maggie Austin.  Can you see me doing a little happy dance right now?!

Real Weddings Magazine – Summer 2012 issue

We are thrilled to see two of our cakes featured in the latest issue (December 2012) of Real Weddings Magazine.

Lemon / Yellow themed wedding cake

This cake was another version of our Camellia Rose design. For editorial purpose, themed colours were used on the cake (Lemon & Grey/silver). The same design would look fabulous in traditional Bridal colours too.

‘French Riviera’ themed wedding cake

The theme for this style shoot is French Summer Holiday. The first thing that came into my mind was French Riviera. I wanted to create a stylish cake while incorporating fresh colour palette.
